Overview
Asfar Shamsi is the story of a child who loves getting lost among the record bins at the FNAC, never far from the CD listening stations and their oversized headphones. Of a teenager who discovers rap and falls for it so completely that she starts writing her first lyrics. Of a young woman who, after several months in Beirut – restorative and musical ones – decides to share the tracks she shapes in her bedroom.
Following Au Revoir Février, Asfar Shamsi is preparing a second EP for 2025, with sharp rhymes and carefully crafted writing, rap lyrics in their construction and pop in their colour, intimate productions that are electronic or airy. Music that mirrors all of her influences.
Winner of the Fair this year, two years after being selected for the Rappeuz talent competition, Asfar Shamsi has made the genres her own to create music that is limpid and intoxicating. A clever blend of Sheldon, Luidji and Laurent Voulzy.
