Bollywood Masala tells the story of a famous Indian chef, the Maharaja of Masala, M. Kari Balti, inventor of the concept of catering on film sets at the time when the film industry was taking off. A blend of Bombay and Hollywood, the word "Bollywood" refers to the most thriving film industry in the world. As for the term "Masala", it evokes both the blend of spices that makes up a curry sauce and the very essence of Bollywood cinema: a savoury mix of action, romance, comedy and melodrama. "Masala music" also fuses Indian and Western influences. Cinema and gastronomy are among the greatest treasures India has given the world. With Bollywood Masala, these two worlds meet in a unique, colourful and festive show, to be discovered as a family.
