Overview
Direction: Marie-Claude Pietragalla & Julien Derouault. With Marie-Claude Pietragalla & Julien Derouault and the TDC dancers. The new creation Don Quichotte revisits Cervantes's literary masterpiece through a poetic and daring staging.
Blending dance, theatre and digital art, this show explores themes of idealism, madness and the quest for an ideal, in a deeply human and visually stunning interpretation.
Claire Allante, a visual artist specialising in immersive experiences and digital set design, creates the virtual sets for this ballet, combining the dreamlike quality of the situations lived by Don Quichotte.
Marie-Claude Pietragalla and Julien Derouault sign a new choreography pitting human against machine, a Don Quichotte confronted by a technological future, in love with an artificial intelligence that rules over humanity. He struggles to convince us that fiction shapes reality.
