États sensibles #2 — Performance de peinture live & piano improvisé

A performance in which painting and improvised piano are created simultaneously, live, in a spontaneous dialogue between gesture, material and sound.

Marking the closing of the STRATES exhibition, États sensibles returns for a second edition: a live performance at the crossroads of painting and improvised music. For one evening, visual artist Clothilde Fricot Mugnerot and pianist Léo Bailac create a work in real time. For 30 to 45 minutes, Clothilde produces a large-format canvas before the audience's eyes while Léo simultaneously builds an improvisation at the piano. Here, neither medium illustrates the other. The painterly gesture and the sound respond to one another, influence each other and evolve together. Painting alters how we listen, music shapes the gesture: a spontaneous creation takes shape in the moment. The audience is therefore not watching the presentation of a finished work, but its process of creation.

This second edition of États sensibles extends the universe of STRATES, the exhibition presented at Réva from 13 October to 3 November 2026. Matter, movement, accumulation and transformation leave the plane of the canvas here and unfold across time, sound and gesture. The performance on 2 November marks the closing event of the exhibition.
