Overview
The Ensemble Vocal et Instrumental de Montpellier, conducted by Franck Fontcouberte, is delighted to present a concert on Thursday 12 November 2026 at 8pm, at the Temple on rue Maguelone (Montpellier, Tram: gare St Roch), with a programme including the celebrated Requiem op.
48 by Gabriel Fauré, for choir, string orchestra and organ.
The work features solo contributions from Hermione Delaygue (soprano) and Frédérik Fournier (baritone), and will be supported by the rich sonorities of the new organ at the Temple on rue Maguelone, inaugurated in 2025 (builder P. Quoirin).
On this remarkable instrument, the organist Alain Cahagne will also perform two pieces by Jean-Philippe Rameau.
The artists will then introduce two works, "Himno a Miguel Arcángelo" and "Pucciniana" for strings and soprano, by the Mexican composer Roberto Abraham, as well as the Missa brevis by Orlando Soccavo for choir and string orchestra, specially written for the Ensemble Vocal et Instrumental de Montpellier and performed here exclusively in our city.
This varied and colourful programme promises beautiful moments of emotion for the audience.
