Overview
The Maison de la culture du Japon à Paris hosts “Five Views”, an exhibition bringing together five rising figures of contemporary Japanese photography.
Conceived by the T3 PHOTO FESTIVAL TOKYO, the exhibition Five Views – Emerging Japanese Photography brings together artists THE COPY TRAVELERS, Kenji Chiga, Mayumi Suzuki, Eri Minamikawa and Shohei Miyachi.
Through unique approaches, each artist explores the relationships between image, memory, identity, body, family, and contemporary Japanese society.
; Credits: © ERI MINAMIKAWA: FROM GARDENING The works presented notably address the memory of the 2011 disaster, landscape transformations, changes in the family unit, social structures, and the mechanisms of image reproduction.
Together, they paint a sensitive and multifaceted portrait of contemporary Japan while highlighting new directions in Japanese photography.

The project is also labelled Bicentenary of Photography by the Ministry of Culture and is part of the official programme of celebrations for 200 years of photography.

Japanese Photography from Post-War to the Present Day” (6 October 2026) will trace the major evolutions of the medium through a dialogue between the exhibition curator, Miho Odaka, and Héloïse Conésa, curator at the Bibliothèque nationale de France.
- “NEW TALENTS - Perspectives from a New Generation” (12 November 2026) will bring together the photographers from the exhibition as well as Mutsuko Ota, director of the T3 NEW TALENT programme. ; Credits: © KENJI CHIGA: FROM HIJACK GENI
