Overview
"GAINSBOURG AVANT GAINSBARRE "THE TEXT IS FINELY WRITTEN, THE PERFORMANCE OF THE ACTOR AND OF THE TWO MUSICIANS IS VERY ACCURATE.
Halfway between theatre and concert, this tenderly irreverent biopic, fascinating and expertly researched, plunges us into the 1960s, at the heart of the artist's questionings, his doubts and some of his most beautiful musical gems. Here, Gainsbourg is not yet Gainsbarre.
Through an era (1957-63), its mentalities and its customs, the personality of an artist, the writing of an authentic creator and the prosody of a superb musician take shape.
We rediscover his very jazzy, lyric-driven songs with their slightly ironic, funny and disillusioned themes. With Stéphane Roux (vocals), David Fabre (guitar) and Aurélien Maurice (double bass). Written by Jean-François Brieu • Directed by David Fabre.
