Gauguin Van Gogh

Presented by M.J.C Jacques Tati - Orsay. It is the story of a cohabitation between two geniuses that did not end well. The final event, Van Gogh's severed ear, everyone knows. But how did he reach such a level of despair, and such a senseless act? A few weeks earlier, Gauguin joins Vincent in Arles.

The latter has been living there for a few months, with a certain serenity and joy in his brushwork. The idea? To found an artists' house there, in Provence. The play traces these nine incandescent weeks. Condensed, of course, but with a genuine concern for fidelity to the many known elements, as it was written under the expert supervision of David Haziot.

Friendship, genius, fragility… Come and live the most feverish flatshare in the history of art.

The press says: “We come out quite overwhelmed by this play. Everything feels true, and the outstanding actors give heart and flesh to the two geniuses.” Françoise DARGENT, Culture editor-in-chief at Le Figaro.
