Overview
Sanit Mils presents: GLORIA DE OLIVEIRA (Dream Pop / Ethereal Wave - Germany / Brazil) Trained in classical singing, with a background at the Beaux-Arts de Paris and in film (Babylon Berlin, Christian Petzold's Undine), Gloria de Oliveira has for several years been developing a body of music in which dream pop sits alongside darkwave, shoegaze and, at times, even bossa nova.
In 2022 she released Oceans of Time on Sacred Bones Records, an album made with Dean Hurley, a long-standing collaborator of David Lynch.
It carries something of Julee Cruise's records, with misty synths, arrangements that take their time and that almost unreal voice running through the whole album.
On 30 October 2026 she will release her third album, The Lying Swans, produced by Randall Dunn (Sunn O))), Anna von Hausswolff, Marissa Nadler) and recorded between Iceland, New York and Berlin.
On the first single, Fading Faces, we find in particular Matt Chamberlain on drums and Úlfur Hansson on synthesisers and segulharpa.
Gloria explores a fuller sound here, carried by guitars that at times come close to glam rock, and arrangements that evoke the fantasy film soundtracks of the 1980s.
After appearances at SXSW, Grauzone, Way Out West and Pop-Kultur Berlin, she will present this new record in the underground setting of the Caves Saint-Sabin. + guest to be announced
