Gospel River

The Gospel River collective settles in for a concert blending the roots of soul, gospel and funk in the heart of the 11th arrondissement of Paris.

Gospel River brings together several voices and instrumentalists around a repertoire that crosses the boundaries of traditional gospel, rhythm and blues, soul and reggae accents. This ensemble draws on the history of African-American and Caribbean music to build a set where polished vocal harmonies and lively rhythms intersect. The group offers a fresh interpretation of standards and original compositions, driven by arrangements designed for the stage.

On stage, the band deploys a collective energy where each member finds their place in the service of singing and groove. Solo interventions converse with the choir, creating a direct dynamic with the audience. Spectators attached to vocal traditions and the acoustic and organic sounds of soul and funk will find a coherent musical proposition here.

The Eglise Protestante de Bon Secours hosts this stop on the Parisian tour. The venue's architecture offers acoustics suited to voices and acoustic instruments, allowing for attentive listening in a place of worship transformed for the evening into a concert space.
