Imminentes

Six sovereign women, witches, goddesses, nymphs, raise their murmurs like roars in Jann Gallois's piece, conceived as a bulwark against the destruction, hatred and violence of the present. A luminous work carried by a shared dynamic that lifts us up like a tidal wave.

For Jann Gallois, appointed co-director of the Agora-Cité internationale de la danse in Montpellier in 2025, there is another path possible besides violence or hatred.

That of a restorative dance driven by the strength of a vibrant sextet "where bodies, united in synergy, weave a hypnotic and transcendent dance".

Renowned for pieces blending hip-hop and contemporary writing, the dancer and choreographer signs a piece full of nuance, inspired by the feeling that struck her while reading Anne Dufourmantelle's Puissance de la douceur.

Alternating breaths, rhythms, intensities and a sequence of combinatorial movements: so many mirrored gestures running through the dancers, one after another… Imminentes galvanises us through the visceral energy of its performers, united like the fingers of a hand.

And through its incredible message of joy and hope in the face of the world's torments.
