Overview
L'amante anglaise is a play by Marguerite Duras, whose writing starts from a news story. It belongs to text-based theatre, where speech, repetition and silences hold a central place. The show rests on a verbal confrontation that gradually brings the grey areas of a criminal case to the surface.
On stage, the production sticks to this dense, jagged language, without spectacular artifice. Cécile Nadaud and Louis Tréhard are associated with this production.
La Petite Croisée des Chemins is a concert and performance venue located in the 15th arrondissement of Paris. This theatre hosts shows of varied kinds, and this play is especially aimed at those who are interested in Marguerite Duras's writing.
