Overview
Violist David Gaillard and Jueun Jeong, ONPL super-soloist violinist, blend their timbres in Mozart's sublime Sinfonia Concertante... a miracle of instrumental fusion!
The thrilling Overture to Mozart's The Abduction from the Seraglio makes a wonderful introduction to the composer's Sinfonia Concertante. Inspired by a fashionable Parisian practice at the end of the 18th century, it brings several soloists into conversation with the orchestra.
Here, the instruments of Jueun Jeong, our new super-soloist violinist, and David Gaillard, principal viola of the Orchestre de Paris, engage in a dialogue where neither ever seems willing to let the other have the last word. They imitate each other, reply, interrupt one another...
all of Mozart's imagination is placed at the service of this incredible spectacle! Conductor Jesko Sirvend then leads us off to Scotland, a legendary land that fascinated the young Mendelssohn.
The memory of these grandiose landscapes inspired one of his greatest symphonies, the Third, which echoes with bagpipe tunes, folk melodies and the song of the waves.
