LA BARBOTEUSE

Clown solo, soap bubbles and imaginary aquatic dance… Water gets you wet!

How does a clown approach cleanliness when stepping into a bathroom? It is not by taking the shortest or easiest path that the Barboteuse will get clean. She must gain self-confidence and dare to plunge into the water of her bath.

At the centre of the stage stands a bathtub. The timeless set is both modern and retro. With her bathing cap and swimsuit, the Barboteuse recalls the bathers of the 1930s, while her soft, childlike, light and poetic face paint gives her a gentle charm. She says only a few words, which the youngest can understand, and expresses her emotions in complicity with the audience.

In this sensory show, we explore the apprehension of water and the intimacy of washing, which becomes playful for the very young audience. Children or adults, haven't we all once imagined that a bathroom could become one of the most wonderful playgrounds?
