Overview
La mélancolie des paquebots is a contemporary theatre play presented at the Théâtre de la Tempête, on the Cartoucherie site in the 12th arrondissement of Paris.
La mélancolie des paquebots is a piece of contemporary theatre. The title pairs a dreamy mood with ocean liners, great vessels associated with travel and waiting, and points to a poetic writing style rather than a comedic plot.
The performance takes place at the Théâtre de la Tempête, located on the Cartoucherie site in the 12th arrondissement of Paris. The venue hosts shows and concerts, and forms part of a cluster of theatres and companies housed in the island's former gunpowder stores.
The show is aimed at audiences drawn to contemporary forms of theatre, who enjoy works in which meaning builds gradually through speech, performance and set design.
