Overview
Molière's comedy first staged in 1673, The Hypochondriac is presented at the Théâtre du Pont Tournant in Bordeaux, with a cast comprising Carole Pierret-Bonnin, Julie Vallcaneras, Natacha Haêgel, Stéphane Alvarez and Paul White.
Written by Molière and first staged in 1673, The Hypochondriac follows Argan, convinced that he suffers from a host of ailments he intends to treat with doctors and remedies. Caught between hypochondria, an arranged marriage plan and the schemes of those around him, the comedy mocks gullibility and pretence.
On stage, the cast brings together Carole Pierret-Bonnin, Julie Vallcaneras, Natacha Haêgel and Stéphane Alvarez, alongside Paul White, a British electronic music producer from London, active since 2007 and whose work belongs to the electronica genre. His output includes The Strange Dreams of Paul White, released in 2009.
The show is staged at the Théâtre du Pont Tournant in Bordeaux. The laughter springs from the foibles of a man who prefers remedies to life, and from a family trying to bring him back to his senses.
