Overview
Presented by the Centre Culturel d'Ecully. Born to an Algerian mother and a German father, Rachel and Malrich are raised by an elderly immigrant uncle in a Parisian suburban estate, while their parents remain in their village near Sétif.
Their destiny takes a dramatic turn in 1994, when the Armed Islamic Group massacres part of the population there.
For the two siblings, grief is compounded by a far more atrocious pain: the revelation of who their father truly was, this German who held the prestigious title of moudjahid...
This authentic story connects three realities, at once dissimilar and close: the Shoah, the civil war in Algeria, and the increasing abandonment of the Republic in French suburbs.
