Magyd Cherfi

Magyd Cherfi presents his artistic journey and songs during a concert in Toulouse.

Magyd Cherfi has carved out a career as a singer-songwriter and performer, shaped by his time with the Toulouse-based band Zebda, which was active from the 1980s onwards and notably released the hit track Tomber la chemise. Alongside this collective journey, the artist has developed a solo repertoire that began with the album Cité des étoiles in 2004, complemented by literary works including his memoir Ma part de Gaulois. His songs navigate between traditional lyric-driven French song and the realistic tones of social chronicle.

On stage, the performer delivers a set focused on the spoken word and interaction with the audience. Accompanied by musicians, the concert highlights acoustic arrangements and stripped-back melodies that support his poetic and socially engaged writing. This evening is aimed at fans of finely crafted lyrics and everyday-rooted storytelling, at the Salle Nougaro in Toulouse.
