Overview
New stopover for Maraboutage Airlines at Unité22! For this new crossing, head to Brazil with DJ RAY, an afro-diasporic DJ and curator originally from Campinas in the State of São Paulo.
The daughter of a b-boying DJ and a samba dancer, DJ RAY grew up at the heart of movement, sound and street cultures.
This background is reflected today in her high-energy sets, where funk, rap, Brazilian funk and other sounds from her musical universe collide to make the dancefloor vibrate. After touring Brazilian venues, DJ RAY quickly crossed international borders.
Since her first European tour in 2024, she has performed in Paris, London, Milan, Berlin, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Lisbon and Marseille, as well as at several major festivals in Brazil such as The Town, Tusca, Bienal and Virada Cultural.
Also heard on the airwaves of Rinse, Foundation FM, Veneno and Half Moon, and acting as official DJ for Brazilian artist Ajuliacosta, DJ RAY also develops Ray Convida, a project dedicated to peripheral cultures, Black women and LGBTQIAPN+ communities.
An engaged, transnational artist deeply connected to dancefloor culture, she will be bringing her Brazilian and afro-diasporic influences to Marseille.
