With the Bicentenary of Photography and Photo Days, it has been 10 years since Marc Riboud passed away, and this year we are celebrating the Bicentenary of Photography.
It is therefore quite natural that we have chosen to explore a new angle of the work of this artist, whom Galerie Arcturus has represented for over 20 years. "Photos must be composed like paintings.
" Marc Riboud readily recounted this advice, or rather this "order," that Henri Cartier-Bresson had given him when he was a young beginner.
This meticulous composition, which was natural to him, always remained at the service of what was essential for him: his curiosity for humanity. With him, geometry becomes poetry, life, emotion.
