Mrs Dalloway

A bold adaptation of Virginia Woolf's novel, "Mrs Dalloway" comes to life on the stage of L'Échangeur in Bagnolet, brought to life by Magali Montoya's performance.

This singular show offers an immersion into the intimate world of Clarissa Dalloway, an emblematic figure of modernist literature. Far from a simple transcription, the staging explores the meanderings of the character's thoughts, her memories and fleeting perceptions, through a scenic form that invites introspection. The audience is invited to follow the thread of this particular day in London, where the preparations for a party become the pretext for a deep exploration of existence.

Magali Montoya subtly embodies this complex woman, whose inner life is as rich as the external world is teeming. The actress's performance, often alone on stage, allows the audience to grasp the nuances of this inner monologue, where joy, melancholy, and reflections on the passage of time intertwine. L'Échangeur, with its atmosphere conducive to contemporary creations, provides an ideal setting for this play that questions the human condition and the choices that shape it. It is a demanding and poetic artistic proposition, intended for an audience sensitive to literary adaptations and innovative theatrical forms.
