Overview
Nocturne (Parade) is the fourth instalment of the Pièces du vent cycle, in which director and performer Phia Ménard explores the invisible and exhilarating force of air. Through a dazzling ballet, these creatures carry us on a journey from darkness towards light.
The action begins as night falls, a metaphor for the dark times that seem to descend upon us. Under the hands of the puppeteers and the breath of the fans, bodies, objects and landscapes are born, flutter and transform.
Seated around a circular stage, the audience experiences at close quarters the intense emotion produced by the dance of these fantastical puppets. Before these carnival-like parades, the imagination takes flight and lifts us free of gravity.
