Overview
A concert organised by Attacafa
In the Iranian cultural imagination, the cypress is a symbol of uprightness, constancy, and freedom. Always green, it endures the seasons, resists the winds, and remains standing. It also embodies beauty, dignity, and a form of silent strength. It is around this image that Ode au Cyprès was born, a gathering inspired by Persian music and poetry. For the first time, Maliheh MORADI, a great voice in classical Iranian music, Sogol MIRZAEI, a renowned târ and setâr musician, and Saghar KHADEM, a sensitive percussionist, come together on stage. Based on poems by Hafez, Rûmî, Saadi, and other great figures of Persian poetry, the programme will consist of Tasnifs (composed songs), Saz-o-âvâz (dialogues between voice and instruments), and improvisations. Between voice, strings, and percussion, the three artists will perform intimate, free, and deeply vibrant music, music that carries a solidly rooted heritage but continues to live, transform, and pursue its path.
