This show takes as its subject Olympe de Gouges, a woman of letters and committed campaigner during the French Revolution, author of the Declaration of the Rights of Woman and the Female Citizen in 1791. It belongs to the contemporary theatre genre and examines the life of a woman who demanded equal rights at a time when these were denied to her.
