The Halo Effect + Lacuna Coil + Omnium Gatherum

2020, the year of the coronavirus pandemic. As the music world was forced to a standstill, five old friends brought to life an idea that had been brewing in their minds for a long time, one that would ultimately give birth to a new band and a genuine powerhouse: THE HALO EFFECT.The members of THE HALO EFFECT are not only masters of their craft but also among the pioneers of the Gothenburg melodic death metal scene: the lead guitarists and masters of melodic death metal Niclas Engelin and Jesper Strömblad, vocalist, scorching growler and lyricist Mikael Stanne, joined by the rock-solid pillar and foundation of the band, bassist Peter Iwers, and his partner of more than twenty years, the hard-hitting drummer Daniel Svensson.

Having known each other since their early teens in the late 1980s, then having played together in various line-ups during the 1990s, they ended up dominating the Gothenburg metal scene, mainly as members of the two flagship bands and figureheads of Swedish metal, IN FLAMES and DARK TRANQUILLITY, which are also among the pioneers and principal architects of the "melodeath" movement: the "Gothenburg sound". A sound that would resonate around the world and influence countless metal bands throughout the 1990s and early 2000s.This was also the founding idea behind THE HALO EFFECT: returning to the roots and exploring the sound of that revolutionary metal of yesteryear, while adding the experience and know-how the members can bring today. The result is an exceptional album and a genuine tour de force for melodic death metal fans, in which the echoes of the "Gothenburg sound" are evident. THE HALO EFFECT lives up to all its promises with a display of brutal efficiency, blending heart-pounding rhythms, melodic chaos and growls at the height of their fury.
