A maquis somewhere between Ouagadougou and Abidjan. Roadside gargotes serve as the backdrop for this afro-electro concert, which traces fifty years of West African music. Amadou Diao, a Burkinabé griot from the Diabaté lineage, plays the kora and the n'goni he built himself. Evelyne Mambo, a singer and choreographer from Abidjan, brings each piece to life. Gurvan Loudoux, a Breton percussionist steeped in West African music, weaves it all together with electronic textures. From village ceremonies to afrodisco trance, by way of Congolese rumba and coupé-décalé, the audience, on its feet, is invited to sing, dance and, for one evening, take to the maquis too!
