Overview

The Ateliers de Paris gallery presents the exhibition “Multiples, thinking the object in series”, bringing together some fifteen designers around the question of the design and production of series objects.

Born in the wake of the industrial revolution, mass production has long held the promise of standardised and economical manufacturing.

Faced with the ecological, economic and social challenges of our time, the proliferation of objects surrounding us questions our ability to cope with future instability.

The Multiples exhibition gives pride of place to some fifteen designers who seek to rethink their relationship with series production.

Reappropriation of savoir-faire, dialogues with publishing houses, domestication of industrial processes, self-production, differentiated series: the projects presented experiment with new models to forge more attentive links with environments, gestures and resources.

Adopting the codes of the workspace and mass production, the scenography unfolds throughout the gallery in the form of an assembly line. The works interact with production elements displayed on the walls, complemented by strip curtains that extend the industrial imaginary.
