Overview
From 16 April to 24 October 2026, the Fondation Dubuffet presents the exhibition “Pulsions. Jean Dubuffet, les dernières années (1974-1985)” bringing together more than 150 works by the artist.
In 1974, after bringing the L’Hourloupe cycle to an end, Jean Dubuffet, then over 70 years old, began a new chapter in his creative work. Over ten years of intense production, he explored unprecedented artistic avenues, navigating freely between figuration and non-figuration.
Between 1974 and 1985, he produced more than 1500 paintings and 1000 drawings, organised into about twenty series. This late period testifies to the freedom of gesture and the constant audacity that characterises Jean Dubuffet's practice.
