Spite + Emmure + Distant + Mauled

When it is channelled the right way, anger brings people together. Spite draws in outsiders and misfits with music that blends brutal vengeance, thrash influences and deathcore intensity.

The Californian band — Darius Tehrani (vocals), Lucas Garrigues and Alex Tehrani (guitars), Ben Bamford (bass) and Cody Fuentes (drums) — has built a genuine community called the “Spite Cult”.

For frontman Darius, this “cult” represents the union of society's outcasts: people who embrace their anger and refuse to conform. The band claims total freedom in its lyrics, with no filter and no limits.

Following their albums Spite (2016) and Nothing is Beautiful (2017), which brought them millions of streams and a strong reputation on stage, the band returns with Root of All Evil.

Unlike the previous album, which centred on depression and self-hatred, this new record turns that rage into anger directed at the outside world and a society seen as decadent.

Tracks such as “Reign In Hell” and “Root of All Evil” embody this sonic and emotional violence, mixing blast beats, breakdowns and dark themes of hatred, chaos and accepting one's own darker side.

With this album, Spite aims to offer its fans an intense, cathartic experience, where anger becomes an openly embraced collective force.
