Standing, near the Cross… There stood Mary, mother of a son crucified before her eyes. Grieving, powerless, she witnesses the last moments of the one she brought into the world. Since the 13th century, the poem of the Stabat Mater embodies this contemplation of Mary's pain, but also the believer's desire to participate in the mystery of the Cross. Discover the Angers Nantes Opéra choir in a florilegium of works by Antonín Dvorák, Francis Poulenc, and Franz Liszt, in front of the cathedral's 16th-century Spanish Christ on the cross.
