Teenage Fanclub

In October and November this year, Teenage Fanclub will play 35 concerts across Europe, more specifically in Spain, France, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Norman Blake: "We've been touring for a long time now. Someone recently told me it's been 37 years since our first gig in 1989, but I don't see things that way. It's simply my life, our life, it's what we do. But we seem to enjoy it more than ever. If you felt weary at the thought of doing this sort of thing, you'd be better off giving up. Twelve shows in Spain, and all the other places too, it's incredible!"

So is this an anniversary tour?

Raymond McGinley: "Well, for us, it's the anniversary of everything and the anniversary of nothing. 'Anniversary Of Nothing' – that could be a good album title. I suppose every day is the anniversary of something..."

If it's not an anniversary tour, is it a tour around a new album?

Raymond answers again: "As a band, we think it's good to have the mindset of always working towards something new. In our minds, we're still a contemporary band, not very different from what we were at the start. At some point we'll have new songs ready to release, but until then we prefer to keep any work in progress to ourselves."
