Utensils, cutlery, clothing, bottles or boxes: so many objects that carry a story within them. Do they not bear witness to a territory, to a way of life? When we take the time to observe them, these pieces shed light on entire fragments of Niçois history.

Like any collection, this one is the result of chance: the chance of discoveries, of emotions, of encounters. And each object invites us to question the very notion of a masterpiece: rarity or abundance, sacred or profane, contemplation or utility?

This exhibition thus paves the way for new themes to deepen our knowledge of Nice. Let's go bargain hunting!

The Niçois flea market from A to Z.

The exhibition "Trésors, charafi et quoi encore ?" offers a journey through the history of Nice by exploring the world of second-hand trading, like a scrapbook of memories leafed through via objects.

The pieces on display were unearthed in the antique dealers' district, at the Puces de Nice as well as at the Cours Saleya flea market.

Originating from the fields of fashion, craftsmanship, industry, agriculture and architecture, they reveal little-known aspects of the heritage of Nice.

Thus, they bear witness to their ability to recount an era and a territory.
