Zenzile Sound System

Doing the same thing differently is probably what best defines ZENZILE's approach since its creation. At least, that is what the group from Angers has accustomed us to since 1996, across a good twenty or so records, all singular and all now dub classics.

And since they are classics, they might as well return to the precepts of the genre's historic masters: recreate, reinvent, recycle, experiment. The musicians of ZENZILE have therefore decided to re-explore their own best riddims and most mythical riffs within their sound system.

) and everyone sets about improvising something new over it, all dubbed and re-dubbed live, giving birth both to something familiar and entirely unprecedented, sometimes even heading in directions very far from the original track, while keeping you on the dance floor until trance—sometimes for hours—thanks to the starting gimmick.

And if you discreetly glance over your shoulder into the crowd, you may well catch the ghosts of King Tubby, Lee "Scratch" Perry, Sly & Robbie or Augustus Pablo dancing with fists raised to the sky.
