María Olvido Gara Jova, known as Alaska, is a Spanish-Mexican singer, DJ, and celebrity, born on June 13, 1963, in Mexico City.
Primarily known in Spain and Latin America, she was one of the main figures of the Movida cultural movement. She was successively a member of numerous successful groups such as Kaka de Luxe (1977), Alaska y los Pegamoides (1980), Alaska y Dinarama (1983), and the duo Fangoria (1989).
