About — The artist

Bilal Hassani is a French singer-songwriter and influencer, born on 9 September 1999 in Orsay.

He first gained attention through videos posted on his YouTube channel and by taking part in The Voice Kids in 2015, where he performed Rise Like a Phoenix by Conchita Wurst. His singing career took a decisive turn when he was chosen to represent France at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest with his song Roi. Co-written with the duo Madame Monsieur, this song, celebrating self-acceptance, quickly became an anthem for LGBTQ+ youth.

That same year, Hassani released his first album, Kingdom, which achieved notable success. He followed it with a second album, Contre soirée, released in November 2020, in which he continues exploring urban pop sounds while addressing more personal themes. In October 2022, he returned with a third album titled Théorème, marking a shift towards more experimental, pop-leaning productions.

On 15 December 2023, Hassani released a compilation of his best songs, Héritage, closing out the first phase of his career.

In 2024, Bilal Hassani made his film debut in the feature Les Reines du drame, directed by Alexis Langlois. This exuberantly styled film features queer characters and boldly explores themes of identity and marginalisation. Bilal's role in the film was praised for its energy and authenticity.

Bilal Hassani remains a committed advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, using his profile to promote messages of acceptance and diversity.
