About — The artist
William Patrick Corgan, Jr., better known as Billy Corgan, is an American singer, guitarist, singer-songwriter, poet, and wrestling promoter born on March 17, 1967, in Elk Grove Village, a suburb of Chicago, Illinois. He is best known for his work as the frontman of The Smashing Pumpkins, a major alternative rock band. After the band's dissolution in 2000, he formed the band Zwan, then worked solo, before reforming The Smashing Pumpkins with new musicians.
Outside of music, Corgan became a producer for the Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) federation in 2015, then a minority shareholder of TNA before becoming its president from August to November 2016. He then became a promoter for the National Wrestling Alliance starting in 2017.
