About — The artist

Fashion (sometimes stylised Fàshiön or Fashiøn) is a British new wave band.

“Fàshiön Music” was founded in 1978 in Birmingham by “Mulligan” (John Mulligan, synthesiser and bass), “Dik” (Dik Davis, drums) and “Luke” (Al James, vocals and guitar). They signed to I.R.S. Records the following year and released their first album, Product Perfect.

Luke James left the band in 1980, and “De Harriss” (Dave Harris, vocals and guitar) and Marlon Recchi (bass) joined. The quartet released Fabrique, closer to the New Romantic movement, in 1982. Harris left Fashion shortly after; in 1984 he released the album Identity with the band Zee, formed with Rick Wright of Pink Floyd. Troy Tate (guitar and vocals) and Alan Darby (vocals) joined the band, but Tate left again very quickly and does not appear on the band's final album, Twilight of Idols (1984).

Luke James, settled in California, revived the Fashion name in 2009 for the album Stairway to Nowhere.
