The Flamin' Groovies are an American rock band founded in San Francisco in 1965 by Ron Greco, Cyril Jordan, and Roy Loney.
Their second LP and true debut album, Supersnazz (1969), featuring Jordan (guitar, vocals), Loney (guitar, vocals), George Alexander (bass, harmonica, vocals), Tim Lynch (guitar, vocals, harmonica), and Danny Mihm (drums), contained 1950s rock 'n' roll covers and more melodic songs that foreshadowed the 1970s power pop genre — a genre to which the Flamin' Groovies contributed greatly. They released the albums Flamingo in 1970 and Teenage Head in 1971.
In 2013, Cyril Jordan, Chris Wilson, and George Alexander reunited for the first time since 1981. Accompanied by drummer Victor Penalosa, the trio returned to the studio to record new tracks and refine old, unfinished songs. The band then performed concerts in Japan, Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom, and France.
