About — The artist
Gaël Faye, born on August 6, 1982, in Bujumbura (Burundi), is a French-Rwandan rapper, singer, songwriter, and writer.
In 2016, he published his first novel, Petit Pays (Small Country), inspired by his own story during the Tutsi genocide in Rwanda and Burundi in 1994. The book won the Prix Goncourt des Lycéens.
In 2020, after two initial solo music albums and two EPs that went largely unnoticed, he released the album Lundi méchant. In 2022, he participated in the EP Éphémère with Grand Corps Malade and Ben Mazué.
In 2024, eight years after Petit Pays, he published his second novel titled Jacaranda.
