About — The artist
Innocent Didace Balume, born on 5 May 1997 and known by the stage name Innoss'B, is a Congolese singer-songwriter, rapper, percussionist, dancer and philanthropist. Nicknamed the “Young Leader,” he is recognized as the pioneer of AfroCongo, a musical genre blending Congolese rumba, indigenous folklore and ndombolo.
Born into a family of musicians in Goma, Innoss'B began his career at the age of six with the family group Maisha Soul, which won the Revelation Award in 2007. He went solo after winning the Vodacom Superstar competition in 2010, sponsored by Akon, which led to their collaboration on “Up and Away.” He released his debut studio album, Innocent Vol.1, on 17 July 2013. In 2015 and 2016, he became known in Kinshasa through his collaborations with Werrason on “Eloko” and Koffi Olomidé on “Elengi.” His five-track maxi-single, Plus, was released on 29 June 2017, featuring the flagship track “Ozo Beta Mabe,” which achieved immediate success across Africa.
The BBC named him one of Africa's rising stars in 2020. That same year, Innoss'B became the first Congolese musician to surpass 100 million views on YouTube with the remix of “Yo Pe,” featuring Diamond Platnumz. His second studio album, Mortal 06, was released on 26 December 2021, followed by the EP Calcul on 29 March 2024. In July 2025, Billboard France ranked him tenth among the most streamed Congolese artists in France. His third studio album, Arena Way, was released on 28 August 2026.
