About — The artist
Kraan is a German band based in Ulm and formed in 1970. It enjoyed a few modest hits in the 1970s and 1980s. After a ten-year break, the group reformed in 2000. Its early style can be described as krautrock, which later evolved into fusion, blending elements of rock and jazz.
The group took the name Kraan after considering Jack Steam. The word means tap in Dutch, something they apparently did not know at the time; it has no meaning in German, but they liked it because it was easy to remember.
