About — The artist
Joshua James is an American singer-songwriter based in American Fork, Utah, and Lincoln, Nebraska.
His album The Sun is Always Brighter, released in 2007, reached number one on iTunes and drew the attention of the independent folk scene. Paste Magazine named him among its 25 artists to watch in 2008, and NPR featured his track The New Love Song. Variety described him as a young Midwestern artist with raw songs sung in a voice shaped by the elements.
He has since released several projects, including Discover Responsibility Through Fatherhood and Magical Leaves Red White Black Heat in 2019, the album Dreams of Karen, recorded in collaboration with his mother Reesa James, in 2020, and then Forever In Life, For Now in 2021. His songs Coal Wars and Crash This Train also featured in the television series Sons of Anarchy.
