About — The artist
Yuji Kamijo, known by the mononym Kamijo, is a Japanese singer. He is best known as the lead singer of the visual kei bands Lareine and Versailles. He has also run two independent labels: Applause Records (founded in 2000), and currently Chateau Agency, formerly known as Sherow Artist Society from 2006 to 2016.
Kamijo began his music career in 1994 with the rock band Lareine. After thirteen years, including a brief period as its sole member during which he also formed the short-lived band New Sodmy, Kamijo disbanded Lareine in 2006. He then co-founded the symphonic power metal band Versailles in 2007. When the band went on hiatus in 2012, Kamijo began a solo career the following year. Versailles resumed activity in December 2015.
