About — The artist
Mely is an Austrian gothic metal band from Drautal, Carinthia. The band's name alludes to the word melancholy. Their melodic and often complex music is thus very melancholic, atmospheric, and emotional in terms of the fusion between the lyrics and the melodies that underscore them.
The band gained popularity through their participation in the Austrian Band Contest, a concert at the Metalcamp festival, a series of shows performed with bands such as Moonsorrow, Leaves Eyes, and Xandria, and finally a nomination in the Hard and Heavy category for 'best song' at the Amadeus Austrian Music Awards in 2009.
