Oscar Peterson, born on August 15, 1925, in Montreal (Quebec) and died on December 23, 2007, in Mississauga (Ontario), was a Quebecois jazz pianist and composer. Nicknamed the “Maharaja of the keyboard” by Duke Ellington, he was simply called “O.P.” by his friends.
