Richie Hawtin

Richie Hawtin (born June 4, 1970 in Banbury, England, and based in Berlin) is a Canadian electronic music DJ, musician, songwriter and producer. He ranks among the most important electronic music artists in the world, with a career spanning over twenty-five years. Active on the North American techno and acid techno scene at the beginning of his career, he subsequently evolved towards a more minimalist and experimental style, favoring the use of the latest composition and DJing technologies.

While he often composes under his real name, he also uses numerous pseudonyms, the most famous being Plastikman. He is the founder and head of the labels Plus 8 and Minus, on which he has released his most significant albums, foremost among which are Consumed, in 1998, and the series of mixed albums DE9, the most famous of which is DE9 | Closer to the Edit, published in 2001.

Beyond his activities as a musician, he is also heavily involved in business and modern art.
