Samara Joy McLendon, born on November 11, 1999, in the Bronx (New York), known by her stage name Samara Joy, is an American jazz singer. She is compared to the greatest voices in jazz, including Ella Fitzgerald and Nina Simone.
In 2019, she won the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition before being named Best New Artist by JazzTimes in 2021.
In 2023, she won the Grammy Award for Best New Artist and for Best Jazz Vocal Album for Linger Awhile.
