About — The artist
Sandro Zerafa, born on October 10, 1975, in Pietà (Malta), is a Maltese jazz guitarist based in Paris.
After studying classical guitar with Charlotte Smith and music at the University of Malta, he settled in Lyon in 1998 and studied at the Conservatoire with Mario Stantchev and Jean-Louis Almosnino. Graduating from the Conservatoire with a gold medal in 2000, he moved to Paris, where he has lived and worked ever since.
In Paris, Sandro Zerafa formed the jazz trio The Jaywalkers, which later became a quintet under the name White Russian Quintet. His discography includes four albums as a leader and numerous collaborations.
In 2012, he became the artistic director of the Malta Jazz Festival.
