About — The artist

Simon Finn, born in 1951 in Surrey, is an English musician associated with the psychedelic folk movement.

Finn was born in 1951 in Surrey, then moved to London in 1967, where he supported Al Stewart at the Marquee Club in Soho. In 1970 he released his first album, titled Pass the Distance. Some years later, the album acquired legendary status because of how difficult it was to obtain. "Pass the Distance" was remastered and reissued in 2004 by Durtro/Jnana Records. A vinyl edition of the album, distributed by Mayfair Music, also appeared in 2008. In 2004, after thirty-five years away, Finn made his return to the stage alongside Current 93 in Toronto. Since then, he has performed in many countries and cities.

His second album and first recording in 35 years, Magic Moments, was distributed in 2004 by Durtro/Jnana.

Finn lived in Montreal for a long time before moving to the United Kingdom in 2008. To date, he has left Current 93 and performs alone. His third album, Accidental Life, was released in July 2007 on his own label, Ten-To-One, as was his latest, "Rats Laugh Mice Sing", which he produced entirely on his own for the first time.

Simon Finn has performed on stage with, among others, Current 93, Graham Coxon, Thurston Moore, Antony and the Johnsons…
