About — The artist
Supertramp is a British rock band, formed in London in 1969 by Rick Davies and Roger Hodgson. They achieved their biggest sales in the 1970s, starting with their third album, Crime of the Century.
Roger Hodgson wrote and sang most of the hits, such as Dreamer, Give a Little Bit, The Logical Song, Breakfast in America and It's Raining Again. Rick Davies also wrote and sang well-known tracks such as Bloody Well Right, Goodbye Stranger, My Kind of Lady and Cannonball.
However, much like Lennon/McCartney for the Beatles, Roger Hodgson and Rick Davies were jointly credited for all of the band's songs until Hodgson's departure in 1983, with each performing the songs he had written.
The band has sold more than 70 million records worldwide, largely thanks to the album Breakfast in America, released in 1979 and sold more than 20 million copies.
